Bolonia
One of the most beautiful beaches of Spain
Another place that deserves a special mention, is Bolonia, just 40 minutes east by car from our school and flanked by Cabo Camarinal and Punta Paloma. An old hippie pilgrimage site for its telluric force, the beach has been protected from the prevailing urbanism in other areas of our coast.
It’s highly recommended to take a walk east to discover beautiful nudist beaches where one can snorkel in crystal waters. There are some hidden waves before reaching Punta Paloma, where we can surf a right break nestled in nature, which was unknown until recently but now attracts a large number of surfers on a good day.
To the west lies the ubiquitous dune, of great ecological value and declared a natural monument. Also well known are the ruins of the Roman city of Baelo Claudia which was devoted to fishing and has been well preserved. Bolonia is also a paradise for climbers, whether in San Bartolo or in the many blocks scattered around the mountains while overlooking the Strait and Africa is a unique experience.
A good to practice the activities already mentioned, for windsurfing, or just to relax, a visit to Bolonia is a must if you are in the area.
